iBolusCalc is an innovative application designed to assist diabetics in calculating insulin bolus dosages tailored to individual needs. The calculations provided by the app rely on user-defined settings, which are often established in consultation with healthcare professionals such as doctors or diabetes educators. This tool eliminates the need for traditional charts, offering a more efficient and precise method for determining insulin dosages.

Specifically aimed at teenagers, parents of children with type 1 diabetes, and anyone utilizing insulin pens for their management, iBolusCalc streamlines the bolus calculation process. To personalize the experience, users are required to input four critical parameters during the initial setup:

 <li>Target Blood Glucose: Desired level in mg/dL</li>
 <li>Exercise Glucose Ratio: Number of blood glucose points in mg/dL expected to change for 30 minutes of exercise</li>
 <li>Insulin Sensitivity Ratio: Blood glucose level in mg/dL that corresponds to one unit of bolus insulin</li>
 <li>Carbohydrate to Insulin Ratio: Number of grams of carbohydrates that are balanced by one unit of bolus insulin</li>
</ol>

Once these settings are configured, the user can begin utilizing iBolusCalc by following a straightforward sequence:

 <li>The diabetic measures their blood glucose level using a tester.</li>
 <li>This reading is entered into iBolusCalc.</li>
 <li>The user then inputs estimated carbohydrate intake and any planned exercise within the next half hour.</li>
 <li>Finally, by pressing the “CALCULATE” button, iBolusCalc delivers a suggested insulin bolus.</li>
</ol>

Important Note: The recommended insulin bolus is derived from user-provided data and is not intended to substitute professional calculations for insulin requirements as advised by healthcare providers.
